SONG OF THE WEEK:

"Cyanide" by Daniel Caesar

Coming back from Good Vibes, Daniel Caesar's sets were one of the absolute best and one of the ones I miss the most. This bop had me so excited as soon as he started singing it, walking out from backstage. The chill, r&b, and fresh feel of the song makes me feel so relaxed, and this goes to show why Caesar's one of the most notable artists of our generation.

ARTIST OF THE WEEK:

Jacob Collier

Now, this was someone I found out about through Daniel Caesar's new album "Case Study 01". His talent can be summed up in a nutshell through this video of him and Caesar's jazzy take on "Best Part". Definitely my favorite video on the internet right now. Once I found out more about Collier, I was able to see that his greatest feats such as two Grammys for his compositions and arrangements, as well as performing with r&b/jazz/soul legend, Quincy Jones. He is one talented music prodigy on the rise to look out for, so don't sleep on it!

ALBUM OF THE WEEK:

"Case Study 01" by Daniel Caesar

I've always loved Daniel Caesar, but at first, I wasn't particularly in love with the album. I'm not sure if it was the fact that I was listening to album half asleep at 2am, or the fact that it sounded quite different to his freshman album, but I really came around to liking this new take on contemporary r&b. "Love Again" became a song I really liked right off the bat as I thought he and Brandy did such a great duet together, as well as "Complexities", making me feel, sad, but surprisingly in a good way. Wouldn't be surprised if any of these songs/the album itself nab another Grammy like "Best Part" did.
