SONG OF THE WEEK:
"Coffee" by Beabadoobee
This song reminds me of one of my favorite kinds of days: rainy, slightly gloomy afternoons that make me feel sad but motivated enough to work on something. Hanging out with the person I want to be with most in that moment. This song opened a door which allowed me to appreciate more kinds of Alternative/Indie music like it.
ARTIST OF THE WEEK:
FINNEAS
If you know me very well (or just stalk my Spotify), you'll know that I have a deep appreciation and lots of major respect for Finneas. I think his songwriting speaks volumes that not many people are able to achieve in their music, and it's weird because I feel like there's this underlying tone of honesty people resonate with, but can also relate to. In summary: one of my favorite artists of all time and I love him immensely.
Some songs you should listen to from him:
- "Hollywood Forever"
- "Claudia"
- "Life Moves On"
ALBUM OF THE WEEK:
"Grrrl" by Sizzy Rocket
Sizzy Rocket was an artist I had found out about in 2016, and I was obsessed with her songs "Boy" and "Young & Stupid". I hadn't listened to her music for the longest time, but the day she came out with "Grrrl", I listened to the album and have not stopped listening to it ever since. Though there are songs I like more than others on the album, there isn't a single song on there I don't like. Highly recommend listening to her and her album if you like Indie pop and/or Alternative rock/punk.
SOME OTHER NOTABLE MENTIONS:
- "Amphetamine" by Sizzy Rocket
- "Adelaide Sky" by Adhitia Sofyan
- "She" by Dodie
- "Anything" by Rusty Clanton
- "Come Thru" by Joji
- "Tulsa" by Sizzy Rocket ft. Lauren Sanderson
- "Agony" by Stairly
